Frequently
Asked Questions:
Made
from SuperStrength HTP™ (High
Tenacity Polymers), Port-a-Field
is a strong, durable, weatherproof
field lining solution that is
still lightweight and compact.
SuperStrength HTP™ is woven
for added strength and can last
for years.
- Are
we going to trip over this?
HTP
gives the material the elasticity
needed to stretch slightly under
a strain, enabling users to
pull tight, making laser straight
lines while minimizing and virtually
eliminating any potential tripping
issues. This “Give & Go”
design allows the material to
move and go with the play upon
contact, going back into place
when released.
- How
long has this been available?
Who else uses it?
Product
began shipping in January 2002
and has since been used all
over the World. An estimated
250,000 people have either used
the product or attended an event
where the products are being
used, including: North
American Sand Soccer Championships,
Canadian National Ultimate Championships,
Fast Plastic National Wiffleball
Championships, World Beach Ultimate
Championships in Portugal and
many leagues and tournaments.
Interior lines are
optional. A different anchoring system
is used on interior lines to make
sure they stay out of the way. Tall
grass can pose issuess. Generally, the benefits of
defined lines outweigh any potential problems. Users
instinctively adapt very quickly
and intuitively use the system
without issue.
We've
designed safety anchors with
a curved end that is inserted
completely into the ground,
leaving very little exposed
and insuring
a safe field of play. The corners and ends of our fields have a reinforced
metal ring that the safety anchors
hold in place.
Wickets,
also known as wind wickets,
are steel landscaping pins that
are used to further hold the
lines in place over long spans
between the corner anchors.
They are particularly
useful for low spots on your
playing area or in windy conditions.
The legs of their U-shaped
design are inserted on either
side of the field material,
straddling the material. This
allows the material to slide
to and fro through the wicket,
contributing to the "Give
& Go" design that allows
the material to move.
Fields
take 5-10 minutes to set-up and retrieve, depending
on the field type and size. Small
fields, like volleyball courts and
small soccer fields only take a
few minutes.
